Karnataka by-polls: Political feud splits Jarkiholi family as Ramesh cuts ties with brother Lakhan

Gokak: Disqualified Gokak Congress MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi had led the rebellion of 17 MLAs against Congress and JD(S) government, eventually toppling the coalition government in Karnataka. Now, Ramesh Jarkiholi has joined BJP after the Supreme Court ruled that disqualified MLAs can contest by-polls and will contest from Gokak on a BJP ticket. However, Congress has given ticket to Ramesh's brother Lakhan Jarkiholi, thus making Gokak a fight between brothers. Reacting to the same, Ramesh Jarkiholi said that politically Lakhan was not his brother but an opponent.
