Forgetting social distancing norms devotees throng Golden Temple in Punjab
The first day of the extended lockdown, in the fourth phase, saw devotees violating social distancing norms in the famous Golden Temple
Amritsar: As lockdown restrictions were eased and curfew was lifted, devotees were seen visiting the Golden Temple. A large number of the devotees who visited the Golden Temple did not wear the mandatory masks. However, temple authorities made sure that hands of devotees are sanitised. Screening is being carried out at the main entrance of the Golden temple called Ghantaghar Chowk.
The Golden Temple was never officially closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Authorities assumed that the curfew would stop people from coming, but this didn't happen.
