Don’t delay execution of convicts: Nirbhaya’s mother urges Supreme Court

Ahead of the Supreme Court hearing on the curative petition of one of the convicts, Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi has urged the top court to avoid further delay in the execution of the perpetrators, who are scheduled to be hanged on March 3.

New Delhi: Ahead of Supreme Court hearing on curative petition of one of the convicts, Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi has urged the top court to not further delay the execution of the perpetrators, who are scheduled to be hanged on March 3. “There are loopholes in our judiciary. It creates a bad impact on society, but why is there a delay in implementing Supreme Court’s own judgement? I want to tell the Supreme Court and the government that the way execution is being postponed, it erodes the faith people have in the judiciary. I have been fighting for 7 years 3 months. I want to ask, what was my daughter’s mistake? I urge for them (convicts) to be executed without further delay,” Asha Devi told ANI.
