Coronavirus lockdown: Kothavalasa Police wins hearts with their humane act
India is in its fourth phase of lockdown to curb the spread of deadly coronavirus. However, the poor are the hardest hit, without food and shelter.
Vizianagaram (AP): Police rescued and fed a young boy, who was starving without a meal for long and resting on a street between K Kota and Kothavalasa, Andhra Pradesh. Amid the nationwide lockdown, the boy was seen sleeping on the road with pigs wandering besides him.
Under the supervision of B Raja Kumari, superintendent, Vizianagaram Police, Kothavalasa Police personnel who spotted him, gave him a new look altogether. The police cut his long hair, bathed him and gave him new clothes. He was later sent to Hoina hostel in the city. The boy was reportedly mentally unstable.
