Coronavirus: Jodhpur faces partial lockdown, Goddesses wear masks

Schools, archaeological sites, fairs have been closed due to the spread of deadly coronavirus in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur. The fear is so much that even idols of Goddesses have been made to wear masks.

Jodhpur: With coronavirus spreading its tentacles into every nook and corner of the country, Jodhpur administration has taken all precautionary measures to contain the deadly virus. As tourist spot Mehrangarh has been shut down, people have been anxious as trouble looms over Chaitra Navratri fair. The panic arose as Shitala Mata Mandir Mela was closed on late Tuesday night. Even idols of Goddesses have been made to wear masks due to the fear of coronavirus. Also, despite holidays declared to schools, some schools conducting classes have come under the radar. Five school managements have been served notices. The court has also stated in the notice that use of masks and gloves are a must. Foreign tourists travelling by road, too have been asked to provide self-declaration forms. Government offices now have sanitizers with sodium hydrochloride placed in every cell. According to the health advisory issued by the Union government, a control room has been created to help the citizens, and large gatherings have been banned till March 30.
