Chittoor: A farmer in Madanapalle of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh used his daughters for ploughing his field in place of oxen to pull plough. Unable to buy a pair of oxen due to acute poverty, Veerathallu Nageswara Rao took the step with support of his wife and daughters.

The farmer was suffering from huge losses due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. According to reports, the man ran a tea shop in a town which he had to shut due to the pandemic before returning to his village and began cultivation.

As he couldn’t afford to hire a tractor or oxen to till the land, he was on the verge of giving up. But his wife and daughters stepped in and helped him. The farmer is also expecting a good yield.
