Amritsar: ASHA workers putting their lives on the line are relentlessly working day and night to ensure coronavirus is kept at bay. Around 27,000 ASHA workers are working along with the Punjab government to conduct a coronavirus survey. These workers survey 25 houses per day but are paid a mere Rs 33 per day. Also, over 800 ASHA workers work in Moga district, Punjab.

However, in a sad state of affairs, the workers complain that they have been given the responsibility of conducting the survey without any safety kits. While these workers are risking their lives battling the deadly coronavirus pandemic, four of them were tested positive for the infection.
