Chinese tourist in Tamil Nadu sent back to China immediately
According to reports, the Chinese tourist did not show any symptoms of coronavirus but was asked to leave the country immediately due to the deadly virus scare
Rameswaram: With more than 1,800 coronavirus fatalities reported, a Chinese tourist, who was in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, was sent back on Tuesday.
The 48-year-old tourist from China, who arrived in Rameswaram from Kolkata, was sent to Madurai after screening by a team of doctors for COVID-19 on Monday. Officials said that the woman had reached Kolkata on January 21 on a pilgrimage. After visiting some shrines in the city, she arrived in Rameswaram and checked into a lodge on Sunday night.
The details of the tourist were given to the district administration and a team of doctors screened her. Though the inference was that she tested negative for coronavirus, and she also showed documents of having been screened by doctors in Kolkata, the revenue officials suggested that she return to her country.
