Bengaluru Police turn city to fort as partygoers get set to ring in the New Year

To avoid shameful and dangerous incidents that may dampen the New Year spirit, Bengaluru Police this time has turned the city into a fort. The department has deployed 15,000 police personnel and installed 1,500 CCTV cameras to guard MG Road, Brigade, Church Street and Residency Road.
 

With few hours left to welcome 2020, the Bengaluru Police have made elaborate arrangements to ensure the New Year celebrations take place with no hassles. They have deployed 15,000 police personnel, 1,500 private security persons and 1,500 CCTV cameras on Brigade Road and MG Road.

Keeping women revellers in mind, the police this time have set up 35 islands that consist of drinking water, police, and other facilities such as dropping single women home if necessary.
