Bengaluru: Bengaluru which has multiple civic issues may further be troubled and become tougher to live in the next few days as mounds of garbage will probably be left unattended, due to the fact that BBMP pourakarmikas have decided to stage a protest.

The agitation follows an alleged attack on a BBMP pourakarmika by a BBMP marshal Gous Azam this morning at Sudhamanagar ward.

Ramesh, a supervisor, allegedly touched the marshal while cracking a joke which irked the officer. The marshal then hit Ramesh with a stick and also slapped him across the face. Enraged by the attitude of the marshal, the pourakarmikas association have called for a strike and will embark on a rally from the city’s Town Hall to the BBMP head office.
