Bengaluru: BMTC rides to get faster with 10-kilometre dedicated bus lane

Travelling in BMTC will not be as taxing a few weeks from now as BMTC is set to come up with a dedicated BMTC bus lane between Tin Factory and Central Silk Board. According to BMTC, 18.5 kilometres of 'Bus Priority Lane' is in the making on this stretch in the first phase. 10 kilometres of the stretch will be ready by November 1, and by December, the entire stretch will become operational.

According to a BMTC official, BBMP has been tasked with putting up shelters and required infrastructure and Bengaluru Traffic Department will deploy police personnel on this stretch to penalise private vehicles entering a dedicated BMTC lane.
