Crack in Magadi Road bridge forces ban on heavy vehicles; four-wheelers seen plying despite notice

Magadi Road bridge bans entry of heavy vehicles including buses, trucks and four-wheelers as the bridge has been declared unsafe due to the development of cracks.

Bengaluru: Entry of heavy vehicles and four wheelers has been banned on Magadi Road bridge as the bridge has developed a crack. The South Western Railway has declared it unsafe and issued a notice to traffic police to ban movement of loaded vehicles like trucks, buses and four-wheelers. The department has asked the authorities concerned to make alternate arrangements and reroute vehicles. However, though movement of trucks, buses is not seen, four wheelers are seen moving on the bridge despite the notice.
