Dhruva Sarja's 'Pogaru' hurts Brahmin sentiments, director assures to re-edit scenes after protest

Protest erupts over 'Pogaru' release as the film is said to have hurt sentiments of the Brahmin community. Members of the community assembled at various places in Karnataka and registered a protest for the last few days.

Following the development, director Nanda Kishore spoke to Asianet Newsable and said, first they tendered an apology to the community and then a few members from the community were called and the edited version was shown to them and the matter was settled.

"The filmmaking process is lengthy now that the community has sought changes, we have edited some scenes.. Once the version gets the clearance from the censor board, it will be released in all the theatres," said Nanda Kishore.

Pogaru is an action drama starring Dhruva Sarja and Rashmika Mandanna and it took four years for the director to complete the much-awaited project.
