Bengaluru gears up for polls; 45,000 officials to be deployed on election duty

BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad inspected few mustering centres as Bengaluru will witness elections on Thursday. He said 45,000 officials will be deployed on election duty.

Bengaluru: N Manjunath Prasad carried out inspections at few election mustering centres on April 17. He said 45,000 officials will be deployed on election duty. The commissioner stated that there are 5,014 booths and about four officials will be deployed to monitor a booth. Officials have been given voters slip, guidelines and other details. A mock test was conducted on EVMs to ensure that there are no glitches. Voting will begin at 7am and end at 6pm.

Upon completion of polling, EVMs will be moved to a strong room on the same day which will be guarded by a three-layered security system till May 23.
