TN police bust massive drug racket in Ramanathapuram, narcotics worth Rs 5 crore seized

Ramanathapuram: The district police unearthed a drug mafia, which was rampant as lockdown relaxation passes were issued by the government. Miscreants took the opportunity and misused the passes for trafficking a range of narcotic and psychotropic drugs. Tamil Nadu police have arrested nine people from Ramanathapuram and Sivagangai districts in relation to the case. Drugs like methamphetamine, amphetamine, methaqualone, opium, heroin and ecstasy worth more than Rs 5 crore were seized from miscreants on Wednesday evening.
