Viral video: Man uses pressure cooker steam to sterilise vegetables

Bengaluru: A man sterilising vegetables by the steam from a pressure cooker in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic has gone viral on social media. IAS officer Supriya Sahu shared this video on Twitter. In the video, the pressure cooker was there on the gas stove, and instead of putting the pressure regulator weight whistle on the lid, the man placed a small pipe. As steam flowed out of the cooker and through the pipe, the man directed the pipe towards a plate of vegetables in order to sterilise them.

However, social media was divided over the technique used by the man to sterilise vegetables. Several users said that it is a "brilliant" method, but some added that the steam rising from the cooker could cause burns. Watch the video.
