Police not safe in Karnataka HM’s home district as villagers beat them up

Villagers from Karnataka home minister Basavaraj Bommai's district Haveri were found thrashing the police for doing their duty

Haveri: Karnataka home minister Basavaraj Bommai's home district Haveri has witnessed a bad precedent during coronavirus lockdown where the policemen doing their duty were assaulted.

A villager named Prakash Karigar attacked policemen on patrol with sticks. He used expletives on Karnataka Police and the government for imposing the lockdown as the police confronted him for roaming around unnecessarily.

Incident took place yesterday at Basapura village in Haveri and a case has been registered.
