Bengaluru: Muslim community members observed a day-long fast in their respective homes in Bengaluru after the top priests asked the members to observe fast and pray for India’s fight against coronavirus.

Maqsoo Imran Rashadi, Khteeb-O- Imam of Jamia Masjid, Bengaluru, said the community members were given clear instructions to ensure they remain safe by staying indoors.

"Instead of roaming on the streets and bringing bad name and becoming a bait for few media section by defying lockdown orders, I requested them to observe day-long fast and hold special prayers in their house. I am happy that many followed the instructions," said the Imam.
