Forgetting social distancing and COVID-19 safety, people rush to get free milk

As the Karnataka government has decided to offer one litre of milk for free to serve the poor, the Bagalkot residents lined up in queue to avail this, while ignoring coronavirus safety norms like social distancing

Free supply of 1 litre milk seemed to be the need of the hour during coronavirus lockdown. The public in Bagalkot, Karnataka, thronged the Keruru Pattana shop to get free milk, all the while ignoring lockdown orders, coronavirus fears and social distancing norms.

The state government had ordered the milk federation to ensure free supply of one litre milk to all ‘below the poverty line’ card holders.

Following the order, the Karnataka Milk Federation made arrangements to supply 25,000 litres of milk to Bagalkot’s BPL families.

As the official in Keruru Pattana in Badami Taluk started to distribute free milk, people crowded around immediately.
