Distressed passenger faced with rude shock called 'quarantine for money’

A mother of a small child complained that, by putting the onus of paying for train transport and quarantine in Karnataka on passengers, the government is rubbing salt on their wounds. The starving mother asks, when she has not eaten for long, how can she breastfeed her child?

A passenger arriving from Andhra Pradesh’s Memboob Nagar to her home in Karnataka is left with no money to eat and is not able to pay for a hotel to remain in quarantine.

The mother of a small child said, she arrived in Bengaluru from Mehboob Nagar and has not eaten for long and fears for her child’s safety during mass quarantine at a government facility.

The mother questioned, "When I have not eaten and have been starving for long, how can I get milk to breastfeed my child?"

The woman along with her relative wants to head to home in Domlur but will be taken to a government quarantine facility as she has no money to pay for a hotel to remain in quarantine.

The woman said she has had no work for the last three months and cannot afford to pay.
