Bengaluru: Corporator supplies 5000 food packets to abandoned labourers
With many building contractors not being able to provide for construction workers during the lockdown, many others have pitched in with food and essentials and the corporator of Domlur ward in Bengaluru has joined the service and is taking care of the needs of such migrant labourers in the area.
As thousands of construction and migrant workers are stuck in Domlur near Koramangala, their lives are surrounded by uncertainty and animosity due to the lockdown. The situation could have worsened with starvation if not for the timely help of the corporator.
Lakshminarayana, Domlur ward corporator, who got to know that many contractors were unable to provider for workers due to restrictions in movement, has taken the responsibility of supplying 5000 food packets and drinking water to labourers.
