In a significant development into the UP fake video case, the Ghaziabad Police have filed a chargesheet and named 11 people including Kallu Gurjar as one of the main accused for his role in the assault of the old man.

Kallu Gurjar's action of cutting the beard of the old man created sensation, later the act was dubbed as an action for not chanting 'Vande Mataram' and 'Jai Shree Ram' and circulated on Twitter.

Interestingly the Ghaziabad Police apart from finding the truth and made it clear that the attack was a personal rivalry and not due to any communal angle. Apart from booking people appearing in the video and those who shared it on Twitter with malicious intention, the police also booked a case against Twitter India under various IPC sections as the controversial video was used on the Twitter platform.

The police are of the view that the company is equally responsible for promoting enmity on grounds of religion, provocation with intent to cause riot by allowing such fake video in its platform.

On June 15 a video appeared in which old man Abdul Samad Saifi a witchcraft practitioner was assaulted by a group of boys after his amulets failed to show results, but the video on Twitter circulated by Samajwadi Party leader Ummed Pahalwan Idrisi went viral.

The police first arrested Idrisi. The accused is also charged under various IPC sections and the cops also invoked National Security Act (NSA).
