Telangana CM has directed officials to have 100-ft flag posts atop every district headquarter, except Hyderabad. Engineers are considering the wear and tear of the flags, given the height of the posts. Parks, picnic spots are being identified to erect the monumental flag where people can come and spend some time.
Chief Minister of Telangana- K Chandrasekhar Rao-has now issued a new directive which demands monumental tricolours on top of all district headquarters in Telangana. Last year, the CM had unfurled a mammoth flag on a 291-foot high flag post at Sanjeevaiah Park in the city.

The chief minister is planning to set up 100-foot high flag posts in all the districts of Telangana, barring Hyderabad, which already has one. Meanwhile, Roads and buildings minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has asked the officials of his department to take up the project. Inside sources said, "It will not be as tall flag post and as large flag as the one in Hyderabad . The idea is to have over 100-foot flag posts to stand tall in every district head quarters. It would be a monumental one so that it keeps flying high round the clock and is not brought down at dusk."
Roads and Buildings engineer-in-chief Ganapathi Reddy, speaking to the Times of India said that considering the problem faced by the authorities to maintain the flag post Sanjeevaiah Park, the size of the flag posts will be a little over 100ft so that maintenance is not a problem.
Agreeing that maintaining the flag even at 100-ft would be difficult, but not as difficult as the 291-feet high flag post, Ganapathi Reddy further added, "The size of the flag will be decided soon. However, the flag post would be a little higher than 100 feet. We are writing to to all the District Collectors to identify parks, picnic spots or a place to erect the monumental flag where people can come and spend some time. The idea is to develop it as a tourist-cum-picnic spot in every district headquarters."
