The Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations law’ says that the doctors from distant villages, tribal villages and from the forest encompassed areas could avail certain privileges. The High Court judges Rajiv Shakhtar and R.Suresh Kumar have cancelled the merit list of TN. TN says that this verdict would affect 973 doctors who have already enrolled in the course.
On May 6, a report was released by the TN government, on giving concession marks to the government doctors who have enrolled for the PG medical counseling. State government has filed an appeal against the last month's order of the Madras High Court, cancelling the postgraduate medical counseling conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education for the academic year 2017-08. This petition would come for hearing on July 4.

On May, a report has been released by the TN government, on giving concession marks to the government doctors who have enrolled for the post graduate medical counseling.
The Act 9 of ‘The Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations law’ says that the doctors from distant villages, tribal villages and from the forest encompassed areas could avail certain privileges. It was said that the doctors from those areas would be given concession marks during the enrollment. Based on which a report that carries the merit list was released by the government.
Following this, a petition was filed against the government’s report by a doctor named Pranitha, in Chennai High Court. After investigating the case, the judges Rajiv Shakhtar and R.Suresh Kumar cancelled the selection list and have told the TN government to produce a new merit list.
It is said that the High Court did not consider the privileges that has been offered to those doctors.
Following this, a plea has been filed in the Supreme Court requesting it to cancel the verdict against the selection list.
The petition says, “This verdict would affect 973 doctors who have already enrolled in the course. Since the admission is over, many seats would not be filled. It would cause a great loss to this nation. Hence we request the High Court to cancel the verdict”
