Karnataka energy minister DK Shivakumar held a press meet today. The minister warned that legal action will be taken against those who damage public property. The state government has requested the protesters to call off the bandh.
In a press meet held today, Energy minister and in-charge minister for Mandya district DK Shivakumar asked protestors to call off the bandh which will cost millions of rupees to the state government.

“The government is with the farmers. The state government will incur losses because of the bandh. Also, the bandh will affect the school children and their education. ” said minister DK Shivakumar.
He requested the protesters to not damage any public property and also legal action will be taken against those who damage public properties or try to break into government offices.
He said that the government understands the condition of the farmers but has to abide by the Supreme Court orders. He assured that the government will take the responsibility to protect the interests of the farmers.
The state government released water for the crops today, two days earlier than the scheduled date.
The minister appealed to the farmers to not take any hasty decisions or attempt to commit suicide.
