A man has been sentenced to a cumulative 106-year jail term by the Devikulam Fast Track Special Court (POCSO) Judge Sirajuddin P A for the rape of a mentally challenged girl in Idukki, Kerala. 
 

The Kilimanoor police arrested three accused for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Thiruvananthapuram.  A case was registered against the accused under the POCSO section and produced in the court and remanded.

A private school in Ajmer district expelled a 17-year-old class 12 student, a survivor of gang rape, and barred her from appearing in her board exams, citing concerns about affecting other students. The district Child Welfare Committee (CWC) confirmed the allegations and directed action against the school.

A Bengaluru court sentenced Kalu Sonar, a 49-year-old man from Nepal, to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping an eight-year-old girl at her grandmother's residence in August 2022. Despite his speech disability, Sonar's guilt was proven through DNA evidence, medical reports, and eyewitness testimony. The survivor's courage in reporting the assault ensured justice under the POCSO Act.

At the Siddaganga Matha fair in Tumkur, a young girl was allegedly gang-raped and recorded on a mobile phone. Perpetrators blackmailed her with the footage, but she reported the incident. Law enforcement raided a house in Bandepalya and apprehended three suspects. The case is under the POCSO Act investigation.
