Stone Pelting

CM Mamata Banerjee said, "It was in Bihar, not West Bengal, where Vande Bharat was pelted with stones. We will take legal action against those media outlets that broadcast false information about the incident in West Bengal and defame our state." 

The windows of coaches C-3 and C-6 of the Vande Bharat Express were damaged. According to railway sources, cracks on the window were noticed when the Howrah-bound train entered Malda Town station on Tuesday evening.

The Railway official said that the glass door of coach number C13 of 22303 Vande Bharat Express was damaged on Monday evening near Kumarganj railway station, about 50 kilometres from Malda town; however, no injuries were reported.
 

According to reports, the decision was taken in the wake of the security alert that the buses might get attacked in Karnataka during the agitations.

Seven persons, including a policeman, were injured after a mob comprising members of the Muslim community allegedly hurled stones at the garba dance event organised as part of Navratri celebrations at Undhela on Monday night. The attackers objected to the event being organised near a mosque.

ADGP Murugan said heavy police deployment has ensured that the law and order situation has come under control. The police said that the prohibitory orders will continue for a few more days.

In view of fresh incidents of stone-pelting in Amravati, a curfew has been imposed in the city. Except for medical emergencies, people are not allowed to step out of their houses.

On Thursday (November 12), West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh’s convoy was attacked in the Jaigaon area of the Alipurduar district. Scores of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) supporters gathered by the roadside chanting “Go back Dilip Ghosh” slogans. The protesters waved black flags at Ghosh. Three vehicles of the convoy including that of Dilip Ghosh were damaged in stone-pelting.
