A team of DRG had left to conduct an anti-naxal operation. As the team was returning in a vehicle to their headquarters, an IED planted on the Aranpur road blasted and killed 11 personnel.

According to the report, a team of police reached the MP Bandi Sanjay's residence in Karimnagar and took him into custody. He could be seen being dragged by policemen and later made to sit inside a police van. 

In a major crackdown, the police detained six persons who arrived at the Karipur airport, to steal gold worth Rs 1.3 crore on Wednesday night. Three carriers were tried to be abducted and taken inside the vehicle under the guise of policemen. 

Locals also pelted policemen with stones when a huge team of security forces reached there in order to disperse them. "We are talking to the protestors and keeping an eye on the situation," the police officer said. 

Some supporters of 'Waris Punjab De' chief shared some videos on social media claiming that policemen were chasing them. A video also showed Amritpal sitting in a vehicle and one of his aides could be heard saying policemen were after 'Bhai saab' (Amritpal).

The jawans had returned to Deoghar two days ago after law and order duty at various places. 

The policemen accused them of slaughtering cows and threatened to dump their bodies in a drain after killing them.  

A large crowd and security guards clashed at the prestigious Allahabad University after an argument over entry to the campus spiralled out of control. A video circulating on social media showed protesters throwing stones at the guards and at policemen who were called to the campus after the violence started.

Local media persons were also roughed up. The protesters damaged four police jeeps and a minivan. The police had to fire tear gas shells to disperse the protesters.
