Northeast man brutally thrashed for suspected office cash theft

A 24-year-old Assam resident was blamed for staling cash which had gone missing from office and was beaten up for it.

Bengaluru:  Another attack on Northeast man has surfaced in Bengaluru. Suraj Teron (24), from Assam, was beaten up brutally by miscreants on Sunday midnight

According to a source from the police, Suraj was blamed for stealing Rs 5 lakh cash which had gone missing from the office where he worked.

The sources also said that Suraj was called out of his Victoria Layout residence around midnight by his office colleagues, who dealt with him by beating him up.

The victim suffered severe injuries on both hands and a deep cut on his head.

Following a complaint by the victim, Ashok Nagar Police has registered a case under section 304 and 307 of Indian Penal Code.

The attackers abused the victim in Tamil while striking him repeatedly, before fleeing. The victim was admitted in Hosmat hospital and was treated for his injuries.

Police is on the lookout for the miscreants.

It is yet to be ascertained whether this was a hate crime or whether the missing money was the sole reason for the attack.
