Two senior citizens die after receiving COVID-19 vaccine in North Bengal
Two elderly people died of heart attacks after taking the COVID vaccine in North Bengal. The deceased have been identified as 75-year-old Parul Dutta from Darjeeling district and 65-year-old Krishna Dutta from Dhupguri.
Two elderly people died of heart attacks after taking the COVID vaccine in North Bengal. According to the health department, one is a resident of Jalpaiguri district and the other is from Darjeeling.
Though primary findings suggest that the deaths were due to cardiac arrest, the health department is awaiting the final investigation report to come to a conclusion.
Krishna Dutta, a resident of Dhupguri town in Jalpaiguri. He is a businessman by profession. The 60-year-old took COVID-19 vaccine from Dhupguri Rural Hospital on Monday (March 8). After taking the vaccination, he was under observation in that hospital for a long time. However, the family claims that Krishna returned home from the hospital and eats his lunch. Later, Krishna went to his shop started vomiting in the afternoon. The man was rushed to Dhupguri Hospital in the early hours of the night after having breathing issues. However, Krishna was declared dead by doctors upon reaching the hospital.
On the other hand, Parul Dutta was vaccinated on the same day. He was 65 years old. He did not have any problem after taking the vaccine. He returned home after being under observation. However, he suffered from diarrhea after few hours of taking the vaccine. He was rushed to Batasi Health Center in Kharibari block. The doctors then sent Parul to North Bengal Medical College. The old woman died shortly after being admitted there.
According to the health department, West Bengal's COVID-19 caseload rose to 5,77,267 as 241 more people tested positive for the infection while two fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 10,283.
