The filmmakers of Haraamkhor are overjoyed after its the box office collections. Guneet Monga of Sikhya Entertainment posted on Twitter saying, “Officially entered the Rs 1 crore club in three days for Haraamkhor that we crowd-funded and self-released! Epic, profit, high ROI (return on investment),”
Beside, Nawazuddin Siddiqui the film also has Shweta Tripathi both their performances got positive reviews. With a distinct theme of a teacher-student relationship.
Reports say, the movie was made under a budget of ₹ 1 crore, Haraamkhor, which released on January 13, moved into a profit margin in its first weekend itself.
According to a statement issued on behalf of Sikhya Entertainment, "The film took an opening of 23.7 lakh on the first day, collected close to Rs 35.6 lakh on the second day and wrapped the weekend with a collection of Rs 41.9 lakh on Sunday,"

Guneet Monga also shared some of the difficulties Haraamkhor had faced with the censor board. He said, “At the censor board, they outrightly denied giving a certificate. We went to the revising committee, and they said cut few scenes and that is what we challenged. If we were to accept those cuts, we would get an A certificate. We challenged that at FCAT.”
Monga also mentioned in his previous interview to PTI that, "Nawaz and everyone on the project worked on minimal money or no money at all." "Nawaz was sweet to only charge one rupee from us literally as a token of his efforts. His support and work made the film possible!," Monga said.
The film is jointly produced by Monga and Anurag Kashyap.
