At 9 am on March 1, 2021, India began the second phase of the world's largest vaccination drive against Coronavirus.

The second phase will cover the next priority age group -- those aged over 60 and those between 45 to 59 years of age suffering from pre-specified co-morbidities.

From 9 am onwards, people can register and book an appointment for vaccination using the COWIN 2.0 portal or the Arogya Setu app.

All vaccines will be provided free at the government health facilities while private facilities will charge Rs 250 per person per dose. The Rs 250 charge includes Rs 150 for vaccines and Rs 100 as operational charges.

As many as four beneficiaries can be registered through one mobile number. However, norms state that all those registered on a particular phone number will have nothing in common except the mobile number.

Each beneficiary must carry at least one photo identity document -- aadhar card, voter ID card, passport, driving license, PAN card, NPR smart card and pension document with a photograph -- for availing online registration.

The government has released a user manual to enable people to smoothly register themselves for vaccination. Click HERE to access that user manual.

Over 10,000 private hospitals empanelled under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, 600 hospitals under the Central Government Health Scheme and other private hospitals empanelled under state schemes can function as COVID Vaccination Centres.
