The Investigation Into the Shoving Incident
The shocking incident of a girl’s father shoving a 73-year-old hawker, who had simply patted her on the head, was captured on CCTV and subsequently went viral on social media, prompting widespread concern over the elderly man’s treatment.
As per the reports, the police have identified a 40-year-old man in connection with the incident, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities have urged the public not to speculate about the incident or the circumstances surrounding it, and to allow the police to establish the facts of the case.
Another customer, who brought his own daughter to the hawker, stated that the elderly man wanted to leave the case with the police and allow them to do their investigations to try and surface the person who pushed him down rather than take matters into his own hands or seek revenge, choosing instead to focus on recovering from his injuries and returning to his daily routine.
However, there has been no report of whether police have arrested the suspect or filed formal charges in connection with the incident, as investigations remain ongoing.
