Following the February 7 Uttarakhand glacial burst, state administration along with armed forces swung into action immediately.

A part of the under-construction hydropower project near Tapovan was damaged following a glacier burst in Joshimath of Chamoli district, that triggered a massive flood in the Dhauli Ganga river in the region.

12 workers, who were rescued from the tunnel in Tapovan, by ITBP jawans provide first hand accounts on how they were rescued. These workers are currently being treated at the ITBP hospital in Joshimath.
