Journalist Nidhi Razdan opens up about fake Harvard University job offer

Journalist Nidhi Razdan gave up her 21-year career with the NDTV news channel to teach at the prestigious Harvard's University. But it turns out that the offer was fake.

In a Twitter post, Nidhi said she has been a victim of a ‘sophisticated and coordinated’ phishing attack wherein through ‘forgeries and misrepresentations’ and access to her private email IDs and devices, the false offer was presented to her.

The journalist said that she was told in June 2020 that she would be posted as Associate Professor at the University.

Following the "offer" she resigned from  her job at NDTV.

“I had been given to believe that I would be joining the University in September 2020. While I was making preparations to take up my new assignment in January 2021. Along with these delays, I began noticing a number of administrative anomalies in the process being described to me," she wrote on Twitter.

She reached out to Harvard University. It was then that she realised that she had been scammed.

The former anchor of the primetime show Left, Right and Centre said she has filed a complaint with the police, and written to Harvard University.
