FIFA 23 could be named EA Sports FC as EA suggests dropping FIFA branding

EA Sports dropped a bombshell on Thursday (October 7) in a post on their website that suggests that they are considering to drop the FIFA branding that comes from its licensing deal with the global football body.

This essentially means the recently released FIFA 22 would be the last FIFA branded game.

According to the trademark applications submitted in the UK and EU on October 1 and October 4 respectively, the suggested name is 'EA Sports FC'.
