Bengaluru: Shivajinagar Assembly segment's leader Roshan Baig dissented against the Congress, which ultimately led to his disqualification. Now, his son Ruman Baig hints at Baig contesting independently with the support of the BJP, thereby making the by-election in Bengaluru similar to that of Mandya Lok Sabha election. In Mandya, actress Sumalatha contested independently and won the seat with the support of the BJP.

Ruman Baig, in an exclusive interview with Asianet Newsable said, Congress used Muslims as a safety cushion, while PM Modi and the BJP has been working in the interests of minorities. He also hopes that his father Roshan Baig's name will be cleared by the CBI in the IMA scam.
