NEET 2019: Sadananda Gowda seeks help for 500 students who missed exam

Union minister Sadananda Gowda has written to Prakash Javadekar requesting him to give the students an opportunity to take up the NEET exam. This after as many as 500 students traveling from North Karnataka in the Hampi express couldn't make it in time.

Bengaluru: Union minister DV Sadananda Gowda has written to senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar, asking him to give a chance to the 500 students who were unable to take up the NEET exam.

The students, who had been traveling to Bengaluru from parts of North Karnataka by the Hampi Express were delayed by over five hours and hence were unable to take up the exam.

Gowda, in his letter, said that due to change in examination centres and the late arrival of the Hampi Express were the main reasons why students couldn’t write the exam.

Gowda also said that the National Testing Authority should have given vide publicity regarding the change in examination centre and should have intimated the students well in advance. This could have averted the situation, he added.
