Lok Sabha polls: 12,000 police personnel to provide tight security in Bengaluru

As the nomination process for the Lok Sabha candidates began from Tuesday (March 19), Bengaluru city police commissioner Suneel Kumar said that they would deploy 12,000 police personnel who will join the central forces 48 hours before the polling day on April 18

Bengaluru: The city police on Tuesday said that they would deploy cops 48 hours before the Lok Sabha polling day on April 18 to ensure peaceful voting.

Bengaluru police commissioner T Suneel Kumar said that previously the election commission of India (ECI) had availed the services of 45 companies of armed forces. This time, the city police is yet to receive the final list.

The police have already been on duty at the BBMP head office, Bengaluru Urban District Commissioner office and Bengaluru South Joint Commissioner office to provide tight security for the nomination process till March 26.
