Bengaluru sees 2.30 lakh new voters in all 90 lakh to exercise franchise

BBMP Commissioner and returning officer for Bengaluru, N Manjunath Prasad said that 2.30 lakh new voters have been registered for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls 2019

Bengaluru: The nomination process for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls begins today. The BBMP Commissioner and returning officer N Manjunath who held a joint press meet along with city police commissioner T Suneel Kumar to announce election preparations said that, 50,000 officials would be pressed into action and appointment letters would be handed over soon.  

As regards voters’ enrolment, this year, from January to March, under the initiative to add new voters, the BBMP revenue officers have come across 2.30 lakh new voters, thereby increasing the voter base to 90.30 lakh new voters. These voters are from the constituencies of Bangalore North, South and Central.

 Manjunath also said that the M3 machines which were deployed during the assembly elections would be put in place in 8 MLA segments that fall under Bangalore Central Lok Sabha constituency.
