1 dead in Bengaluru building collapse; 37 feared trapped

Bengaluru: Two under renovation buildings in Pulikeshinagar have collapsed causing the death of one while 37 are said to be trapped inside the debris.

Bengaluru: Two under renovation buildings collapsed at Pulikeshinagar at 6 am today (July 10), leaving 1 dead and six severely injured. The deceased has been identified as Sambu Kumar from Bihar. At least 37 are feared trapped inside the debris and eight have been rescued so far. The injured are being treated at Bowring Hospital. Those who are trapped are mainly labourers from Bihar, Rajasthan and Nepal. Rescue operations are still underway by Karnataka Fire and Emergency services, SDRF, NDRF and Karnataka Civil Defence personnel. Moisture in the soil and weak pillars are said to be the reason behind the collapse.
