Whose responsibility is it? Bengaluru Metro medians, pillars become favourite dumping grounds

It is always BBMP who is blamed for the issue of solid waste management, but there are other stakeholders like BMRCL who are supposed to be responsible. The medians and pillars of Namma Metro which is a source for revenue through advertisements could do with a makeover as these places are now dumping points for garbage such as unwanted household items, construction debris, etc

The medians that run below the Metro lines which acts as a source of revenue through advertisements has now become chosen spots to dump construction debris and garbage.

Residents near Indiranagar 100 feet road where the Metro runs, say that the BMRCL has failed in conducting regular inspections to keep its surrounding clean, adding that as a result people use the opportunity to empty out garbage on medians at night. BBMP Additional Commissioner, Solid Waste Management, D Randeep has said if BMRCL wants the BBMP to take up regular maintenance of the same, the BMRCL can approach them.
