Uganda woman reportedly hits Ola cab driver with slipper, Bengaluru cops register case

Known for exhibiting unruly behaviour and creating ruckus in Bengaluru, Uganda nationals attacked a cab driver after he refused to take five members due to Covid-19 rules.

The incident happened at 10 pm on Saturday when students of African region booked a cab from Sheraton Hotel in Bengaluru West.

The cab arrived and four of the students boarded and when the driver was about to start, another one also tried to board.

Citing Covid rules, driver Sagar raised objections and canceled the trip and also demanded Rs 100 as cancellation charges.

Infuriated by this, the Uganda students who had come to celebrate their graduation ceremony, attacked the driver.

One of the women seen in the video holding a slipper reportedly had hit him. Due to commotion, police were called and the matter reached the police station.

Sagar also filed a complaint. The police, after taking the complaint, sent both the complainant and the accused home and asked them to come on Sunday.

Earlier a group of African-origin students were caned by police after they attacked a station in JC Nagar. The students were protesting after an arrested drug peddler died in police custody.

The protesters accused police of killing the person in custody, however, the arrested peddler had died in hospital due to cardiac arrest.
