Two days after Karnataka law minister humiliated woman activist, another lawmaker threatens resident
Two days after Karnataka law minister JC Madhuswamy humiliated woman activist, on Friday, housing minister V Somanna threatened a resident for exposing shoddy work done by contractors building houses for 2018 flash flood victims. The minister can be heard saying he would take law into his hands if the resident questioned him.
After Karnataka law minister JC Madhuswamy in Kolar said, “Shut up, rascal,” to a woman farmer leader two days ago, housing minister V Somanna, on Friday, threatened Coorg resident for exposing a shoddy work of corporators in housing projects for flash floods victims of 2018.
The minister was accompanied by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha. The resident had come with photographs of the shoddy work in building houses for flood victims at Somwarpet.
Noushad from Kushalnagar, one of the residents, alerted the minister about the poor quality of construction. That's when the minister lost his cool. He threatened him and said, "Who are you? Are you an agent? There are legislators and officials, who are looking after the construction work. Don't trouble us. We are constructing the house for the poor. Don't come all the way from Kushalnagar to disturb us. If you try this again, we have to take legal action against you.”
The minister further added, "We are not here to do any chaprasi (half-baked) work. Don't trouble us and spoil all our good work done so far. Don't instigate people, it won't do any good to you . Be careful!”
