Tamil Nadu: Coimbatore man assaults bank manager for not granting loan, arrested

Coimbatore: Police have arrested a 44-year-old man for assaulting a bank manager in Coimbatore. The accused was identified as K Vetrivelan, who attacked Canara Bank’s chief manager Chandrasekhar after he refused to sanction him Rs 1 crore loan. In a video that has gone viral on social media, Vetrivelan is seen threatening Chandrasekhar with an air gun. Police have also seized the gun and bullets from his possession.

According to reports, Vetrivelan belongs to Somayampayalam and owns a shop in Ondipudur, Coimbatore. His loan history showed he had not paid his pending loan amount received from Andhra Bank. Therefore, Chandrasekhar from Canara Bank denied granting him the requested loan amount.
