Shramik special train carries 1,190 migrant labourers back home to Uttar Pradesh
All the passengers, who were stranded in Amritsar due to the extended lockdown, were screened by the health teams before being allowed to board the train.
Amritsar: Shramik special train carrying 1,190 stranded migrant workers left for Gonda in Uttar Pradesh from Amritsar Railway Station in Punjab on Friday. All the passengers, who were stranded in Amritsar due to the coronavirus-imposed lockdown, were screened by the health teams before being allowed to board the train.
Special arrangements were made for the migrants. A 24-coach train ferried 1,190 migrants back home. 50 people were seated in one coach ensuring social distancing.
