Security guard teaches underprivileged kids in Punjab, touches hearts

Nirmal Singh has been imparting knowledge to the underprivileged and the poor in Punjab by teaching them subjects like English, Hindi, Punjabi and maths
 

Mohali: A 62-year-old private security guard who goes by the name Nirmal Singh is running a school for children of migrant labourers. Nirmal Singh, a resident of Ropar district, Punjab, educates the poor children and also provides them with books, toys, eatables and clothes. Besides guarding, Nirmal teaches these students different languages including English, Punjabi, Hindi and mathematics.

“It was my childhood dream to educate poor children. It took me around a year to convince parents of these children living in slums. At present, I am teaching around 60 children in Guru Nanak School," said Nirmal Singh.
