Punjab Police applaud, appreciate newlyweds for following lockdown rules
India’s nationwide lockdown has resulted in many operations coming to a sudden halt. However, weddings still go ahead.
Amritsar: Weddings still continue to take place in India despite the nationwide lockdown. While some weddings take place with safety precautions, others take place as if everything is normal. But here's a couple who were praised by Punjab Police as they followed all lockdown rules and wed in the simplest way. The bride and groom entered wedlock on April 19 in the presence of just 5 people each from both families. Krishna SIngh and Manjit Kaur were given a warm and memorable welcome by the police department in the presence of SPH Ratna Singh Brar, DSP Bagha Purana Ravinder Singh and Police Officer-in-charge Kulwinder Singh Dhaliwal. The newlywed couple was greeted with applause when they reached Main Chonk Bhagat Singh road and celebrated by cutting a cake. The police then escorted the couple to their house as a mark of respect.
