Odisha's first robot restaurant opens in Bhubaneswar

Two robots are in service of customers at Robo Chef restaurant, opening today, at Infocity DLF Tower area in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Now robot will take orders and serve food replacing the waiters at a 'smart' restaurant in Odisha's Bhubaneswar. It is said to be the first restaurant in eastern India where two indigenously developed robots namely 'Champa' and 'Chameli' are engaged in serving food to the customers. They have voice operated system to greet the customers and wish them.

In fact they can speak 'Odia' language too. This restaurant has been started by one Odiya engineer. "Being inspired by the services of robots in restaurants during my visit to the US, I wanted that kind of service here in Bhubaneswar where a robot can be used in restaurants. Robo Chef is probably the first restaurant in eastern India and the first non-line follower restaurant in India," said Jeet Basha, Robo Chef Restaurant owner.
