Mysuru temple demolition case: Thousands of pro-Hindu outfit members take to streets against BJP, DA

Demanding stringent action against Mysuru district administration and to condemn BJP for letting the temple demolition take place, thousands of members from pro-Hindu organisations gathered in Mysuru's Aramane Kote Anjaneya Temple premises.

Hindu outfit members from Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya and Chamarajanagara also thronged and took part in the protest.

The members raised slogans against Mysuru DC Babadi Gautham, Nanjangud tahsildar and also the BJP party.

As members saw BJP MLA SA Ramadass also in protest, they raised the 'shame shame BJP' slogan in the face of the BJP leader to humiliate him.

The protesters believe that even BJP is responsible for demolition as they failed to prevent it despite them being in power.

Last week Adishakti Mahadevamma Temple in Huchchagani village was demolished using JCB machines and the authorities cited Supreme Court guidelines to justify their act.

After the video went viral, the BJP government was cornered by the Opposition as they are in power and yet allowed such an act to happen.

Anticipating the impact of this demolition in elections, the government not only stopped the demolition drive to clear unauthorized religious structures but also issued notice to Mysuru DC Bagadi Gautham and also tahsildar.

The DC said that the action was carried as per the Supreme Court guidelines and now has halted the drive following Karnataka government order.

Leaders cutting across party lines have united against this act as MP Pratap Simha, MLA GT Deve Gowda and Siddaramaiah condemned the act and termed that this action was carried out in a hurry by officials.

Later Siddaramaiah accused BJP of being responsible for desecration of temple.
